Fertile Grounds & Street Party

PROFORMA is proud to present Fertile Grounds curated by Nikita Gill at Longsight Art Space. A street party on Northmoor Road and a procession through Crowcroft Park, Longsight to celebrate 50 years of Carnival in the city with costume, dance, food, music and live visual art. Participate in free workshops during the street party and express your creativity through costume.


From 5th June, there will be a supporting exhibition at Longsight Art Space of Fertile Grounds by Nikita Gill, using documentation to explore cultural links between Longsight and Moss Side, celebrating Caribbean History in the City. Partners and supporters for Manchester's Caribbean Carnival include, Fred Aldous, SOUP, AIURRRC, Great Places Housing Association and Manchester Council.
