Taking inspiration from the popular daytime TV cookery show, in which amateur chefs living in the same town each host a dinner party for the other contestants in their own home, celebrating food, creativity, community and hospitality. With this in mind STOCK Gallery brings you ‘COMBINE With Me’, a collaborative art project that brings together artists from across Greater Manchester.

Instead of cooking for each other, selected artists, who each represent a different region of Greater Manchester, have been asked to make a piece of work that responds to the theme of ‘Utopia’. After creating a piece, the artists have been asked to switch work with an artist from a neighbouring or opposing region and respond, add or adjust the work given to them.

‘COMBINE With Me’ is a project bringing together artists from across Greater Manchester in a unique collaborative exhibition. Designed to connect Greater Manchester’s regional art scenes, its aim is to encourage more horizontal community engagement. Recent times have been plagued by uncertainty, doubt and division, with narratives that glorify the individual and self reliance. To contrast this, COMBINE With Me aims to celebrate the collective, and asks the artists to embrace collaboration, compromise and trust in one another.
