My New Favourite Shop

Leslie Thompson’s shop at PAPER Gallery is an organic departure from his black comic book hero series of the pandemic years; his focus now turns to personal heroes and significant life influences. Ranging from Donna Summer to his brothers, from Brown Bear to Mr T, he selects figures that have repeatedly appeared in his work throughout the years.


‘My New Favourite Shop’ is Leslie’s shop front and residency space. Influenced by beloved trips to the model shop at Afflecks Palace, Leslie has built an installation at PAPER based on these experiences and his drawings.
