Words to Grieve

Chris Alton & Emily Simpson hosted a shared dinner; inviting 6 guests to each bring a dish that reminded them of someone they have grieved for. During the meal, the group shared stories, memories, and experiences of living with loss. The evening’s discussions contributed to Chris & Emily’s ongoing work regarding grief and language, which addresses the cultural lack of vocabulary to describe this universal experience.


The recipes, conversations, and other reflections have been brought together as a publication, which can be found at; A Modest Show gallery, Rogue Studios and the Fayre Share Fayre exhibition.
