You Belong Here : Artists Rediscovering Salfords’s Green Spaces

Tues - Fri, 9.30 - 4pm. Sat - Sun, 11.30 - 4pm

Salford Museum and Art Gallery

The exhibition, launched at Salford Museum & Art Gallery in June 2021, presents five new artist commissions alongside original archive material, photographs and historic artworks. In collaboration with the University of Salford Art Collection, Salford based artists Jack Brown, Cheddar Gorgeous, Hilary Jack and Lizzie King have each been exploring the city since Autumn 2020, and present exciting new work in a range of media.

In Peel Park, augmented reality artwork The Storm Cone by Laura Daly, produced in collaboration with University students and staff, will be available to explore on your phone or tablet.

Together, they aim to share some of the city’s unique history, and offer new narratives about our local natural environments.

In addition, new digital artwork Circadian Bloom by Anna Ridler launched at the Museum in Autumn, sharing the themes of nature, history, and re-discovery; and artist Lowri Evans shares a new participatory project inspired by Salford’s trees.
